What you'll do:
- Develop a vision for the Special Needs ministry at the Rockwall campus and build a team to support the vision
- Create an inclusive church environment by raising up a team of skilled, trained buddies to serve across all ministry areas
- Care for the participants and families involved in our Special Needs ministry
- Build and develop a lay leadership team to execute weekend ministry and events
- Maintain the classroom space in our Special Needs hallway making sure everything is clean and neat and ready for ministry to happen on the weekends
- Build weekend ministry teams to lead in Special Needs ministry classroom
- Execute special events throughout the year, including SOAR Camp and SOAR Prom
- Provide floor coverage during weekend services, assisting in other areas as needed
- Assist with LP Kids Ministry needs as directed by supervisor
- Assist with special needs programming at churchwide events
Skills & Experience you’ve had:
- Previous Special Needs Ministry Leadership preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of children with special needs
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations
