Role Summary:
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Lakepointe Church is a catalytic leadership role responsible for driving the strategic vision, execution, and innovation across the church's technology landscape. From digital engagement and infrastructure to cybersecurity and analytics, the CTO stewards all aspects of technical strategy to enable scalable, secure, and mission-aligned growth. This individual ensures technology is not just a support function - but a ministry accelerator. 
 
What you'll do: 
1. Strategic Leadership
  • Lead the development and execution of a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with Lakepointe's mission, vision, and ministry priorities.
  • Partner with senior leaders to shape digital strategy, drive data-informed decisions, and integrate technology into ministry workflows.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for major tech initiatives, including cloud migration, mobile app modernization, and AI/analytics innovation.
2. Team & Vendor Oversight
  • Lead and develop a hybrid team of internal staff and external vendors across IT, Rock RMS, networking, AV, and analytics.
  • Establish clear career paths and team development plans that foster ministry-minded technologies
  • Oversee vendor selection and relationship management to ensure high-performing, faith-aligned partnerships.
3. Infrastructure & Systems
  • Own the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-ready infrastructure across all campuses
  • Oversee Rock RMS architecture, development, and enhancements to optimize discipleship, engagement, and volunteer coordination
  • Champion the adoption of automation, microservices, and modern API design to support integration and agility
4. Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Maintain and enforce security policies, protocols, and training across the organization.
  • Lead ongoing SOC 2 compliance efforts, penetration testing, Zero Trust pilots, and incident response simulations.
  • Serve as the senior leader for digital and physical security technology infrastructure (e.g., security cameras, access systems).
5. Data & Analytics
  • Advance the church's analytics maturity through data governance, warehouse development, and executive dashboards.
  • Enable predictive and AI-driven analytics to support ministry planning, generosity forecasting, and member engagement.
  • Collaborate with partners like Smart Metrix to refine reporting and expand data capabilities.
6. Budget & Resource Stewardship
  • Manage the annual technology budget, optimizing spend across tools, personnel, and projects.
  • Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities while increasing operational efficiency and service quality.

Experience & Skills
  • 10+ years in senior IT leadership, preferably in a church, nonprofit, or hybrid tech environment.
  • Proven success in infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity leadership, and digital transformation.
  • Deep familiarity with Rock RMS or similar church management systems
  • Experience leading hybrid teams (internal and contractor/vendor mix).
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, modern dev practices (CI/CD, microservices), and data architectures.
  • Executive communication and budget management experience
