What you'll do: 

  • Identify Connections roles in need of recruitment through a current volunteer organizational chart
  • Implement weekly calls, cards, and the communcation strategy for the Connections Team
    • Birthdays
    • Serving Team Anniversary
    • Family events (birth of a child, death of a family member, wedding, etc.)
    • Captain and coach care and rhythm of appreciation
  • Manage the distribution of Connections ministry serving requests 
  • Track how Connections Serve Teams are onboarding and address gaps in follow-up with oversight from the Connections Pastor
  • Review weekly Serve Team tracking and serving frequency through check-in
  • Connect weekly with captains and coaches regarding team members who do not check-in and assist with pastoral care 
  • Evaluate the leadership health of Connections captains and coaches through weekend conversations and weekly touch points
  • Help volunteers exit well if the Connections team is not a good fit
  • Order weekend supplies for Connections ministry
  • Oversee New Here Tent & Next Step Center teams on the weekends
  • Oversee Midweek Prep & Care teams
  • Lead the Serve Now play for the Connections ministry
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills & Experience you’ve had:

  • Staff position at a large church or campus
  • Working knowledge of volunteerism
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Proven experience building teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn church database software
