The Global Missions pastor/director will work closely with the Missions Pastor and missions lead team to build missions collaboration across campuses with our global missions partners. Main focus areas include: Global Engagement, Cross-Cultural Leadership, Missionary Care, Global Ministry Strategy.

What you'll do: 

  • Participates on the Missions leadership team for overall strategy development and execution plans.
  • Provide leadership with Lead Missions Pastor on missional strategies with the Strategic Launch Network national church plants.
  • Provide leadership with Missions Pastor on international partner relationships, new partner vetting, and country coordination of teams/projects with eventual country or region responsibility of certain international partners.
  • Provides leadership for the improvement of the mission trip experience with particular emphasis on team leader recruitment, training, and effectiveness, spiritual experience for trip participants, and the overall trip experience.
  • Provides leadership in all aspects of internal and external Missions communication including web, social media, vision moments, video, storytelling, written communication, annual missions offering campaign etc.
  • Develops and maintains a leadership missions metric dashboard measuring the achievement of key strategies.

1. Global Engagement Across the Church

The Global Pastor should lead our efforts with international church partners and develop an international scorecard that is complementary to our local and domestic strategy.

  • Help campuses engage with global partners.
  • Create opportunities for prayer and storytelling.
  • Help bring a global perspective across all areas and ages of the church.
  • Work with Mobilization Pastor to inspire next-generation missions.
  • Help members understand God’s heart for the nations.

2. Cross-Cultural Leadership

  • Advise staff on international partnerships.
  • Promote healthy intercultural relationships.
  • Ensure partnerships honor local leadership and avoid dependency.

3. Missionary Care: Pastor our global partners

  • Shepherd global pastors throughout the year (coaching and learning).
  • Provide encouragement, coaching, accountability, and spiritual care.
  • Coordinate member care resources for missionaries and families.
  • Build systems for ongoing communication and support.

4. Global Ministry Strategy

  • Assist the Missions Pastor in vetting systems LP already has in place for new partners and global initiatives. 
  • Lead evaluation of effectiveness and impact.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year global mobilization plan.
  • Align global ministry with overall church vision.

Skills & Experience you've had:

  • A proven track record of strategy development and execution to desired results.
  • 5+ years prior leadership experience required
  • International travel required
  • Prior pastoral experience required
