About the Role:

We are seeking a creative and strategic Social Video Strategist to join the Live Free Podcast. In this role, you will primarily focus on transforming full-length podcast episodes into engaging short-form social media reels while also contributing to the broader development and execution of our social media strategy. Your work will help expand our reach, deepen audience engagement, and share high-engagement, faith-centered content across platforms.

What you'll do:

  • Edit and produce high-quality, short-form video reels (typically 60 seconds to 3 minutes) from podcast episodes, highlighting key moments, teachings, stories, and calls to action suitable for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and other platforms.
  • Edit and produce high-quality mid-form videos formatted for YouTube, Facebook and X.
  • Collaborate with the podcast content team to identify the most impactful, shareable clips that align with the podcast’s Christian message and brand voice.
  • Help develop and refine the overall social media strategy, with a strong emphasis on video content, posting calendars, platform-specific tactics, and audience growth.
  • Implement the strategy by scheduling, optimizing, and publishing video content while ensuring consistent branding, captions, thumbnails, and calls to action.
  • Monitor performance metrics (views, engagement, reach, retention, conversions) and use data insights to iterate on content formats, hooks, and distribution approaches.
  • Stay current on social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices for short-form video—particularly within faith-based and Christian audiences—and recommend innovative ideas.
  • Ensure all content remains faithful to the podcast’s theological values, tone, and mission while maximizing shareability and accessibility.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with any existing social media, marketing, or production team members to maintain a cohesive online presence.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience editing short-form social video content (reels/shorts) with strong storytelling instincts and attention to pacing, text overlays, music, transitions, and visual hooks. (Please note, you will be required to include a portfolio of reels/editing samples with your application.)
  • Proficiency with video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of major social platforms and their short-form video best practices, analytics, and growth strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to social media strategy development and execution, not just content execution/editing.
  • Deep connection to Christian faith, values, and audiences (experience creating or engaging with faith-based content is a strong plus).
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and the capacity to manage multiple clips and projects simultaneously.
  • Creative mindset paired with analytical thinking—comfortable both producing content and evaluating what performs well.
  • Excellent written communication skills for crafting captions, hashtags, and on-screen text that resonate with a Christian audience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience editing short-form social video content (reels/shorts) with strong storytelling instincts and attention to pacing, text overlays, music, transitions, and visual hooks. (Please note, you will be required to include a portfolio of reels/editing samples with your application.)
  • Knowledge of thumbnail design, basic graphic design, or tools like Canva.
  • Experience with content calendars, scheduling tools (e.g., Later, Buffer, Meta Business Suite), or basic community management.

What Success Looks Like:

In the first 90 days, you will have established a consistent pipeline of high-performing reels, contributed meaningful strategic recommendations, and helped grow engagement and reach among our core Christian audience while staying true to the podcast’s mission.

This is an opportunity to use your video and strategic skills to amplify meaningful Christian content and help a thriving podcast connect with more people.
